UFC 229, which will be headlined by a blockbuster lightweight title fight between undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor<\/a>, is now less than a month away. Surprisingly, however, the UFC has done very little in the way of promotion for this potentially massive October 6 fight card.<\/p>\n

Speaking to TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter <\/a>in the midst of last weekend’s UFC 228 festivities, UFC President Dana White assured that there are, in fact, a couple of UFC 229 press conferences coming, which we can of course expect to include both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.<\/p>\n

\u201dThere\u2019s going to be a couple of press conferences,\u201d Dana White said of UFC 229. \u201cThat\u2019ll all be announced after this fight. We\u2019ll do this fight and then we\u2019ll announce all the stuff that\u2019s going on with Conor and Khabib. Nothing like [the MayMac World Tour]. There won\u2019t be any … we should have, but there won\u2019t be enough time.\u201d<\/p>\n

So why has there been no promotion for UFC 229 so far? Well, according to White, it’s because Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor are so dialled-in on the challenge ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201dThese guys, first of all this is the toughest fight of both of their careers and these guys need time to train and get ready for this fight,” White said. “It\u2019s a month away. But we\u2019re gonna have some good stuff for the press and for the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
