On Saturday night, in the main event of UFC 228 in Dallas, Texas, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley defended his title for the fourth time with a second-round submission of the formerly undefeated<\/a> Darren Till<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With Till taken care of, Tyron Woodley can now look ahead to his next challenge. When it comes to possible opponents for his next fight, there is one clear frontrunner: Colby “Chaos” Covington.<\/p>\n

While Covington is the former interim welterweight champion, Woodley isn’t certain his rival deserves a title shot. The only reason Till got a title shot at UFC 228, after all, is because Covington wasn’t ready.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Covington] had a chance,\u201d Tyron Woodley said at the UFC 228 post-fight press conference (via MMA Fighting<\/a>). \u201cHe let Darren Till go out there and take his whooping for him. He tried to pause and tried to wait for a bigger pay-per-view, because his eyes got big. My thing is, I\u2019m gonna fight anybody. I\u2019m the best in the world, anybody they put in front of me, they\u2019re gonna get beat up. If it\u2019s Colby Covington, if it\u2019s [Kamaru] Usman, if it\u2019s [middleweight champion]\u00a0Robert Whittaker. Whoever they want me to fight, we\u2019re gonna do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not saying I am gonna fight him, because I don\u2019t feel like he deserves my platform right now,\u201d Tyron Woodley continued. \u201cHe had his chance to be here. He bitched out, if you want to be honest and frank. He talked all this crap and when he got in the hot seat, the second he won that belt, I said, \u2018Let\u2019s come get this smoke.\u2019 He got quiet. Instagram accounts got taken down for a brief moment and he didn\u2019t say nothing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s an embarrassment to the sport and if that\u2019s the next person that\u2019s gotta get the work, you don\u2019t have to do much to get me up for that fight. We\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n
