Like really,\u00a0<em>really <\/em>bad<em>?\u00a0<\/em>Watch the video above.<\/p>\n<p>This baffling referee disaster occurred at Daredevil Fight 13 inside the Ginasio Duduzao in Bauru, Brazil on Saturday night (h\/t <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/darioferrariMMA\/status\/1031387208278794240\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dario Ferrari<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In the fight, we can see one fighter lock up a choke. After a brief struggle, his opponent clearly drifts into unconsciousness. And yet the referee just stares blankly at this tragedy-waiting-to-happen as if he&#8217;s trying to remember if he left his stove on. The choke continues, and continues, and continues, until finally the referee snaps back to reality and remembers that he&#8217;s supposed to be overseeing a fight. Only then does he remove his hands from his proverbial pockets and stop the fight.<\/p>\n<p>This officiating SNAFU was severe enough that it drew the scorn of veteran referee &#8220;Big&#8221; John McCarthy, who unleashed hell upon the dimwitted ref on Twitter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">That is one of the most sickening things I have ever seen in MMA!!!! That referee has no idea what he is doing and could cause a death due to his ignorance and incompetence.
