At UFC 226, Daniel Cormier’s longtime American Kickboxing Academy teammate Luke Rockhold was about as close to the post-fight aftermath that one could be without actually being in it.<\/p>\n

The aftermatch following Cormier’s big title win over Stipe Miocic was, of course, that of his encounter with former UFC champion and WWE star Brock Lesnar.<\/p>\n

Rockhold, a former champion himself, was not a fan of all that transpired after Cormier’s historic moment and recently told\u00a0Submission Radio<\/a>\u00a0that he almost got involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was trying to judge the situation because I was about to pull a Diaz brother and jump on his back and kick Brock in the head. I saw Brock enter the arena as we were getting staged and ready for DC, so I knew something was up.<\/em><\/p>\n

I was trying to judge Brock, I was trying to judge Brock. Brock was coming in hot and pushing DC but DC kept his composure and he was trying to laugh it off, so\u2026 *laughs* I\u2019m not a big fan of Brock and his style, so I wouldn\u2019t mind taking a leg home.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rockhold is referencing the infamous Strikeforce Nashville brawl when he says ‘pull a Diaz brother’. The event was that of the time when Nick and Nate Diaz<\/a> attacked Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller after he interrupted their teammate Jake Shields in his post-fight interview.<\/p>\n

Regardless of the antics at UFC 226, Rockhold just isn’t a fan of Lesnar in general.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I don’t like him because of the fact] that he cheats.” Rockhold continued, “That he was exempt. That he was exempt from [USADA testing] so that he could cheat. And the fact they bring him back after that positive test and treat him like a king, that\u2019s everything that\u2019s wrong with the sport.<\/em><\/p>\n

I understand DC\u2019s point of view. He wants the money, I wish him the best, I want him to kick Brock\u2019s ass and do that, but the fact that this sport promotes Brock Lesnar coming back off of a positive steroid test after they exempt him before the fight and he still tested positive. You don\u2019t see that happening in any other sport and it\u2019s sad to see it happen in this sport.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As for the potential fight itself between Cormier and Lesnar, Rockhold doesn’t think his teammate should have any trouble getting his hand raised but is also skeptical\u00a0as to whether or not the fight will even happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see if it happens or not, but DC wins the fight fairly easy. Brock runs forward, he tries to double leg him, DC stuffs it, gets back up, whether he gets taken down or not and he starts to throw hands on him and probably falls the same way as Stipe.<\/em><\/p>\n

You never know [if Brock will even make it to the fight]. Brock\u2019s not even cleared to fight until next year. I just\u2026 it\u2019s sad that we talk about this, that whole public and everyone gets behind this shit. It just pisses me off. I\u2019m fed up with this shit. I don\u2019t like talking about cheaters.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
