On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour<\/a>, former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre<\/a> discussed potential matchups with many of the sport’s biggest names. Among those names were current welterweight champ Tyron Woodley, who has been calling for a fight with St-Pierre for months, and Nick and Nate Diaz.<\/p>\n

Apparently, none of these matchups are particularly interesting to the former champ St-Pierre. He started by poking holes in the merits of fights with the Diaz brothers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fight with Nate Diaz<\/a> doesn\u2019t really interest me, because I beat\u00a0Nick Diaz,\u201d he said (h\/t MMAFighting<\/a>). \u201cAnd logically, it\u2019s not a risk worth taking for me, because if I beat Nate Diaz, it\u2019s like normal for me. You know what I mean? It\u2019s like, people expect me to win. But if I lose, I lose a big part of my legacy, I lose my name. I think it\u2019s not worth it for me. Logically, it\u2019s not worth it.”<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, fighting Nick now, I have nothing to gain, because I beat him,” he added later. “He lost many of his last fights. It\u2019s not worth it for me. And he\u2019s a pain in the ass. You fight a guy like this, he\u2019s a very skilled fighter, he\u2019s a big pain in the butt, and it would be a risk not to take for me. It would be stupid for me to go fight him. … However, from his side, if he comes back and he achieves something great, like, I don\u2019t know, a title or whatever, now it makes more sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

Next, St-Pierre addressed a possible matchup with Woodley.<\/p>\n

\u201cTyron Woodley, in the beginning \u2014 before \u2014 I wanted to fight Tyron Woodley,” he said. “A few years ago, I wanted to fight Tyron Woodley. We even texted each other. However the idea of coming back at 185 was put in my head, and then I thought it made more sense, so that\u2019s why I chose to go at 185. Because I fought at 170 all of my life, and if I put my legacy against someone, it needs to be something great. Something that, the guy needs to be accomplishing something special. If I put my legacy at risk, I want it to be worth it. If I fight against a guy who fights at 170 \u2014 Tyron is a great champion, but I feel like he fought \u2018Wonderboy,\u2019 he won the fight, but his last fights were not fights that made history. He won the fights, it was great, but it feels like it was not like a special fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
