Once he wins, things could get interesting. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AndNew?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#AndNew<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WeAreAKA?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WeAreAKA<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/GonnaGetMyBeltBack?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#GonnaGetMyBeltBack<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Cain Velasquez (@cainmma) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cainmma\/status\/957103368064954368?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 27, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>While it wasn&#8217;t Velasquez&#8217;s intention, this Tweet, drove the MMA community into a frenzy, as fans speculated what exactly meant by &#8220;things could get interesting.&#8221; Would he fight Cormier? Would he <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/cain-velasquez\/daniel-cormier-hints-cain-velasquez-drop-light-heavyweight\/\">drop to light heavyweight<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Velasquez explained on Monday&#8217;s edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmafighting.com\/2018\/1\/29\/16948064\/cain-velasquez-explains-cryptic-tweet-eyes-return-at-ufc-226\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The MMA Hour<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat did I mean by that?\u201d Velasquez said. \u201cThings could get interesting, man. He\u2019s at heavyweight, I\u2019m at heavyweight. What am I gonna drop down? I don\u2019t know. Things could get interesting, yes. We don\u2019t know how things are going to play out. I think it\u2019s cool what he\u2019s doing, he\u2019s going up in weight, but s**t he\u2019s fought there before at heavyweight so he\u2019s gonna do it again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cain Velasquez then address a widely discussed move to light heavyweight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I had to do it, I could do it,\u201d Velasquez said. \u201cI think it would be hard, but it\u2019s just the will of the person. If I really want to do something, I could do it. Again, things could get interesting, so we\u2019re just going off of that and we\u2019re just going to play it by ear. First things first, helping him get ready, me get ready, and then getting that job done in July, both of us [at heavyweight].&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the case, Velasquez is just hoping to reassert himself as a top contender at heavyweight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe talked about it and I\u2019m all for it, I support Daniel 100 percent,\u201d Velasquez said. \u201cI feel like I just have to go back and prove myself. I have to get a fight and show people why everyone should fear me, so I have to go out there, I have to look impressive. I do plan on fighting again, I\u2019ve never had talks of a retirement. Not yet. I still want to do this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe called me up, he told me that he had this opportunity. I was just like, \u2018Yes, we can do it.\u2019 We can get ready together, that\u2019s the best for us. He\u2019s fighting on that card in July, I\u2019m going to try to get on that [card], hopefully. I think that would be perfect and enough time for me to get on that card and me and Daniel can train together and get ready together because when we do that, that\u2019s when we are the best.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a very good scenario, it\u2019s perfect for Daniel, I think he can pull this off and s**t, I\u2019m going to make it my priority to go out there and train with him so he does get that W.
