Last night, UFC heavyweight Stipe Miocic made easy work of surging knockout artist Francis Ngannou, defending his title with a lopsided, unanimous decision. If you watched the pre-fight promos for this fight, however, this result might have come as a bit of a surprise.<\/p>\n
In the buildup to this fight, many members of the MMA community noted that the UFC hype machine seemed to be focused on Ngannou. Even Miocic was aware of this, admitting he felt a bit “disrespected.”<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cListen, I feel a little bit disrespected, but I\u2019m not going to dwell on it,\u201d Miocic said on a recent episode of The MMA Hour. \u201cHe\u2019s got more hype on him I guess.\u00a0The guy hits super hard. We\u2019re making a big thing about it, I\u2019ve fought some good guys, you know? That\u2019s how we are. I\u2019m not much of a trash talker I just like to fight, that\u2019s what I do.\u201d<\/p>\n The disrespect Miocic felt manifested itself when UFC President Dana White attempted to put the heavyweight belt around the champ\u2019s waist in the moments after the fight \u2013 as per tradition.
