That said, Ngannou has not yet been tested by a truly elite wrestler. As a former NCAA standout, Miocic could well be that wrestler.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"http:\/\/mmajunkie.com\/2018\/01\/francis-ngannou-ufc-220-stipe-miocic-champion-because-i-wasnt-here-yet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MMAJunkie.com<\/a>, the challenger Ngannou addressed the champion&#8217;s perceived advantages in the wrestling department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course he\u2019s a good wrestler, but my little technique, plus my power, I can stop it anywhere I want, when I want,\u201d Ngannou said. \u201cEvery single thing that he will try, I will stop it. I will put my trap everywhere, so he might bring himself in the trap, and I will just close the trap.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ngannou also made the bold claim that, had he arrived in the UFC just a little earlier, Miocic never would have earned the strap.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou say he\u2019s the champion for a reason, yes, he\u2019s the champion for a reason: He\u2019s the champion because the real champ wasn\u2019t there,\u201d he said. \u201cNow the real champ is on the way, and (Miocic) is not going to be the champion as long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the case, Ngannou plans to capture the heavyweight title at UFC 220, and continue what he believes will go down as <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/francis-ngannou\/francis-ngannou-hunt-mmas-first-homegrown-heavyweight-superstar-1\/\">a truly special career<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not just looking to beat Stipe and be the champion and be complete. No, I\u2019m looking forward to doing something really (special).
