When the cage door locked,<span>\u00a0<\/span>the fight delivered.<\/p>\n<p>For two and a half rounds, Pettis and Poirier thrilled onlookers, swapping heavy artillery and submission attempts and painting the Octagon red with their blood. Ultimately, however, <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc-norfolk\/ufc-norfolk-results-dustin-poirier-stops-anthony-pettis-round-3-highlights\/\">Poirier earned himself a TKO win<\/a>, slapping a tight body triangle onto <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/anthony-pettis\/classy-anthony-pettis-issues-statement-action-packed-loss-dustin-poirier\/\">his foe<\/a>, whose midsection seemed to be injured.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after this win, the surging Poirier made it clear what he wants next: a rematch with former champion Eddie Alvarez, who he battled to a controversial no contest back at UFC 211 in May. Alvarez will battle Justin Gaethje at UFC 218 on December 2, and in Poirier&#8217;s opinion, their rematch should be next on the itinerary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope Eddie wins, so we can build this up to what it should be,\u201d Dustin Poirier told <a href=\"http:\/\/mmajunkie.com\/2017\/11\/dustin-poirier-wants-eddie-alvarez-rematch-ufc-norfolk-win-anthony-pettis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MMAjunkie<\/a> after his<span>\u00a0defeat of Anthony Pettis<\/span>. \u201cI should have [had] an automatic rematch. He shouldn\u2019t have been rewarded with a TV show and more publicity and another big fight against another ranked guy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe cheated and got out of a fight that he was losing, and he should have been forced to run it back with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m the guy who got robbed in that fight,\u201d Poirier said, referencing the inadvertent fouls from Alvarez that forced the end of their May scrap. \u201c[Alvarez] got rewarded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, Poirier feels he&#8217;s owed this fight \u2013 and he expects to get it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c100 percent,\u201d he said. \u201cI mean, I\u2019ve earned it. I don\u2019t deserve it. I\u2019m not begging for it.
