We’re now less than two weeks away from the long-awaited comeback fight of former UFC welterweight champion and bona fide MMA legend Georges St-Pierre<\/a>. The Canadian star will make his return against reigning, defending UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping in the main event of UFC 217, this November 4 inside New York City’s Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n

Given that St-Pierre is a former welterweight, and that Bisping has fought as heavy as light heavyweight, there has been much discussion about their potential size and weight difference.<\/p>\n

On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour<\/a>, St-Pierre shed some light on his current weight, explaining that he’s currently floating between 195 and 200 pounds.<\/p>\n

“I’m about, between 195 and 200 pounds,” St-Pierre said of his current weight.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

St-Pierre then explained that he expects to maintain this weight until the time comes for his final cut down to the middleweight division’s 185 pound limit.<\/p>\n

“About the same,” St-Pierre said when asked how much he’ll weight ahead of his final weight cut down to 185 pounds. “About 195 to 200, then I will make a very easy weight cut.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"Michael<\/p>\n

Needless to say, Bisping will probably be noticeably bigger than St-Pierre in the cage. That said, St-Pierre isn’t anticipating\u00a0<\/em>that much of a gulf between their respective sizes.<\/p>\n

“Not that much. He’s going to be bigger, but it’s not like a huge size difference,” St-Pierre said. “I don’t think it’s going to make a difference in the fight.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Whether Bisping is the bigger man in the cage or not, St-Pierre still expects to put him away before the final bell chimes.<\/p>\n

“I’m going to finish him,” he said. “That’s what I believe. Either a knockout or a submission.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
