Originally, heavyweight legend Mark Hunt was expected to return to the cage opposite Marcin Tybura in the main event of the UFC’s November return to Sydney, Australia. When Hunt admitted he was dealing with symptoms of brain injury in an interview with PlayersVoice, however, the UFC pulled him from the fight for the good of his health. He was replaced by Fabricio Werdum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, Hunt is not happy that he was pulled from this fight and deprived of the resulting payday. Since it all went down, he’s berated the UFC for this move.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with ESPN<\/a>, the trend continued, as Hunt challenged the UFC for what he believes is inconsistent logic.<\/p>\n

“The thing is, I didn’t know why they pulled me,” he said. “I still don’t. I’ve passed all the medicals. I’d like to know the reason I’ve been put on the sideline.”<\/em><\/p>\n

“There’s nothing in the results that says I can’t fight. . . The UFC says they’re acting for my well-being; why did they put me in the Octagon with all these cheaters, then? Why are they letting\u00a0Georges St-Pierre<\/a>\u00a0fight again when he’s talked about seeing aliens? They just let a guy fight with a staph infection last week. If they’re worried about our well-being, why did they do all that?”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mark Hunt has been competing as a mixed martial artist since 2004, and as a kickboxer since 1999. Over the course of his fighting career, he’s been in numerous wars, and despite a famously durable chin, has also been knocked out several times.<\/p>\n

In his last fight, he burst back into heavyweight contendership with a beatdown of Derrick Lewis. Hunt is 13-11-1 (1) overall.<\/p>\n
