Ahead of his UFC 216<\/a> interim lightweight title fight against Tony Ferguson that takes place this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kevin Lee has been getting a lot of attention with the words he has been choosing<\/a> to say to the media. However, it will all come down to his performance and how he does in the Octagon against Ferguson, who is on an impressive nine-fight winning streak<\/a> in the UFC lightweight division.<\/p>\n

Tony’s the hardest fight in this division,” Lee said to Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting<\/a> on Wednesday. “Once I beat him, then there’s no denying me any further.”<\/p>\n

\"ufc<\/a><\/p>\n

Lee, who has racked up five UFC wins in a row of his own is giving more respect to Ferguson than the undisputed UFC lightweight champion,\u00a0Conor McGregor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Me and Tony, we definitely the two top guys in this division right now,” Lee added. “This is for the real lightweight championship. If Conor can walk around and call himself the champ and he can sleep good at night and kiss his girl and sleep on a bed of hundreds, I hope he do. He only got one fight in this division. Tony’s got 12 wins, I’ve got 10 wins. We’ve already been through the who’s who of 155 and this establishes the true champion. So, if he wants a shot at the real champion, then he know who to come to.<\/p>\n

“If not, maybe he should go back, take a fight versus Diaz or something like that. Show that you can beat the man because, like I said, as far as I’m concerned, he lost<\/a> three of his last four fights. He just got out-wrestled by a man that\u2019s this tall. A boxer, 30-40 pounds lighter than me, and is a boxer and he out-wrestled him. So, he gotta show me a little bit more. He gotta start barking at me. I ain\u2019t really that impressed. I like a good challenge, and he ain\u2019t the biggest challenge right now at 155.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lee added that he isn’t running after McGregor or any other money fight as he is already doing well for himself.<\/p>\n

\"Kevin<\/a><\/p>\n

“Everybody is chasing the money fight,” Lee said. “I’m not chasing a money fight. Like, I don’t know how many times I can say that. Like, I really don’t give a f**k. Listen, I’m doing \u2013 I’m making some money.”<\/p>\n
