CBD is used in several different medical applications and does not include the psychoactivity that THC is known for.<\/p>\n<p>WADA released the following statement on the subject.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cCannabidiol is no longer prohibited. Synthetic cannabidiol is not a cannabimimetic; however, cannabidiol extracted from cannabis plants may also contain varying concentrations of THC, which remains a prohibited substance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Former UFC lightweight title challenger Nate Diaz first brought CBD into the mixed martial arts spotlight. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Stockton Slugger&#8221; appeared at the UFC 202 post-fight press conference with a vape pen in hand.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s CBD,&#8221;<\/em> Diaz said following his controversial majority decision loss to Conor McGregor. <em>&#8220;It helps with healing process and inflammation and stuff like that. You want to get this for before or after the fight, in training, to make your life a better place.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Nate Diaz was issued a \u201cpublic warning\u201d from USADA, this for admitting that he smoked CBD. The Stockton native would have faced a fine and possible suspension had he tested positive for CBD &#8220;in-competition&#8221; following his bout with McGregor at UFC 202.<\/p>\n<p>Because USADA follows the standards set by WADA, this means all of the fighters on the UFC roster will be allowed to take advantage of CBD starting January 1, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think of the news that fighters will be able to utilize CBD starting on January 1, 2018?
