On Friday night, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor<\/a> touched down in Glasgow, Scotland for an illuminating Q&A session. One of the most interesting revelations from this event arose when McGregor began discussing reigning featherweight champion Max Holloway, who he defeated back in 2013.<\/p>\n

While McGregor shared his belief that he should still be considered the UFC featherweight champion, he also showered the new champ Holloway with praise, applauding him for his tremendous win-streak.<\/p>\n

Speaking on a recent episode of MMA Tonight on SiriusXM Rush<\/a>, Holloway discussed a potential rematch with McGregor. Unsurprisingly, he believes he’d dominate the Irishman in a do-over<\/a>, effectively ending the McGregor ‘fairytale.’<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s this fairytale,\u201d Holloway said (via MMAMania<\/a>). \u201cEverybody\u2019s talking about him as the champion and this and that but his last four fights he\u2019s 2-2 , one of them being questionable. He could have been 1-3 right now if we\u2019re being totally honest. At the end of the day, there\u2019s this fairytale to him and this fairytale breaks if he fights someone like me and I beat him.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While Holloway believes he’d end McGregor’s fairytale if they fought again, he does have respect for the Irish star.<\/p>\n

“He runs his mouth, he talks the talk, and he\u2019s been walking the walk, so touch\u00e9 to him,\u201d Holloway admitted. \u201cAt the end of the day, when I talk I\u2019m not saying stuff to try and hurt your feelings. When I speak, I speak facts and if you\u2019re getting mad, it\u2019s because you know it\u2019s the truth. That guy tries to push it off a little bit more in a WWE way and that\u2019s him, that\u2019s fair play to him. He can do it, I can\u2019t do that. I\u2019m pretty sure that if a lot of people could do it, we\u2019d be doing it. You can\u2019t and you\u2019ve got to respect someone like that.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cHe does it his way, I\u2019m doing it my way. When I start running my mouth I start running facts, I start giving guys numbers, I start giving guys ideas of where I come from and where I work. He just kind of wants to get under your skin but you can\u2019t be mad at the guy, that\u2019s his personality. I\u2019m not a hater. I respect him. He\u2019s on his grind and he\u2019s using it and he\u2019s getting his, so fair play to him.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
