Ever since Chael Sonnen failed two drug tests<\/a> in 2014, “The American Gangster” has been rather open about his use of banned substances. The former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger has previously said that he has taken “everything in the world that you can\u2019t take<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Now, with his former opponent Jon Jones facing his second incident being flagged by USADA<\/a>, Sonnen questioned Jones’ history of banned substance use on a recent episode of The MMA Hour.<\/p>\n

\"Jon<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cAll I can tell you is I had a higher juice concentrate than Tropicana and he pushed me around like Mack truck vs. a Volvo, so I think for the better part of his career, that seems to be how it works,\u201d Sonnen said (transcribed by Alexander K. Lee for MMA Fighting<\/a>). \u201cI know for me, I know exactly the day I started taking banned substances, but I would never deny it. I\u2019ve been competing since I was nine years old and if somebody wanted to go, \u2018His whole career is in question,\u2019 it\u2019s like yeah\u2026 If you did a dishonest act, sometimes the most honest thing you can do is just say, \u2018Yeah, you got me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Given Sonnen’s history with using banned substances, the current Bellator fighter gave some of his insight on Turinabol, the banned substance Jones tested positive for.<\/p>\n

\"Chael<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you – and I don\u2019t know what Jon did, I\u2019m speculating off of what I\u2019ve done – if they catch something like that, they missed the good stuff,\u201d Sonnen stated. \u201cSo yeah he\u2019s got to deal with this, there\u2019s no contaminated something or anything<\/a>, (Turinabol) is pretty hard to get and it\u2019s pretty expensive if you do get it. The problem with this one is it\u2019s an illegal drug. People always get confused on a banned substance vs. an illegal (substance); an illegal means if you\u2019re caught with it they will put you in handcuffs.\u201d<\/p>\n
