Many were dumbfounded<\/a> when news broke on Tuesday that Jon Jones was flagged by USADA<\/a> for the second time in his career for a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation.<\/p>\n

Back in July of last year, Jones was flagged for a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation days before he was supposed to fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 200, which resulted in the cancellation of that scheduled fight and Jones was ultimately suspended for one year<\/a>. Jones blamed a tainted sexual enhancement pill for his positive tests of the banned substances clomiphene and letrozole.<\/p>\n

Now after testing positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol, Jones will go through the appropriate adjudication of the case.<\/p>\n

\"Malki<\/a><\/p>\n

Jones’ manager, Malki Kawa is fully backing his friend and client<\/a> and spoke on a special edition of The MMA Hour on Wednesday to talk about the situation. Kawa confirmed that Jones tested positive for Turinabol, which was originally reported by<\/a> TMZ<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can almost bet my life on it that this is another tainted supplement,\u201d Kawa said (as transcribed by Shaun Al-Shatti for MMA Fighting<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got to just take a look at the testing and how this thing went down. Jon passed two (random, out-of-competition) tests, July 6th and July 7th, … and in passing those two tests, they test for all of that stuff we failed for. So therefore, you\u2019re talking about from the day he passed that test until the day before the fight, he would\u2019ve had to have ingested something that would\u2019ve caused this test to come out positive.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe problem that we\u2019re having with that is that he passes all of the random tests, but then the one test that we know about, the one that we for sure know about, is the one that we fail? So, something here is not sitting right. I\u2019m assuming it\u2019s the supplements we took. We just obviously got to get to work on it, see what was taken that month, that three-week period, that week of the fight, and figure it out from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Jon<\/a><\/p>\n

Kawa said Jones learned from his first incident and avoided being negligent coming off his suspension.<\/p>\n

“This time he was being perfect and double-checking everything to [prevent] something like this from happening to him. It\u2019s unbelievable, it\u2019s unreal, and we\u2019re all pretty much shocked. We\u2019re all shocked and devastated.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kawa went on to explain the oddity of Jones testing positive from the sample taken. Given that Jones tested and passed seven unnanounced tests, it doesn’t add up that he would test positive for one test he knew he would have to take, which was after the weigh-in.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe UFC knows. They look at his tests on the 6th and the 7th, and he passed both of those, there\u2019s nothing in his system,” said Kawa. “So for him to start doing steroids, especially the steroid they\u2019re saying he took, he would\u2019ve had to have been doing that steroid for awhile for it to actually do anything. He just took it to take it? I mean, to me, there\u2019s a lot of issues with this. That\u2019s why I just wish … they would change the way they released information, absolutely, because I think that if the B sample comes back negative, then this man just got crushed again for no reason.\u201d<\/p>\n
