Regrettably, Nunes fell ill through the week of fight, and was ultimately forced to withdraw from the fight on the very day it was supposed to occur.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of her withdrawal, Nunes found herself under fire, as many members of the MMA community suggested she was scared, and UFC President <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/dana-white\/dana-white-rips-amanda-nunes-suggests-champs-ufc-213-withdrawal-mostly-mental\/\">Dana White claimed her withdrawal was probably mostly mental<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cYou can\u2019t make anybody fight,\u201d White told the media after UFC 213. \u201cShe said, \u2018I don\u2019t feel right.\u2019 I think it was 90 percent mental and 10 percent physical. A lot of times we\u2019ve had fighters who don\u2019t feel right and other times they\u2019re outright sick. I don\u2019t know if I\u2019ve ever had a situation like today where she was physically capable of fighting.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, meanwhile, does not believe the bantamweight champ was scared. Cormier defended Nunes&#8217; withdrawal on a recent episode of <a href=\"http:\/\/mmajunkie.com\/2017\/07\/daniel-cormier-believes-amanda-nunes-sick-ufc-213\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MMAJunkie Radio<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p id=\"2BVJ75\"><em>\u201cThis is a woman who has already fought and beat Valentina Shevchenko,\u201d Cormier explained. \u201cThis is a woman who beat Ronda Rousey. A woman who beat Miesha Tate. Two women who are no longer fighting because of the beatings that they took at the hands of Amanda Nunes, essentially.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Cormier then chimed in on White&#8217;s comments, explaining that emotion may have got the better of the UFC boss.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p id=\"vAwGhY\"><em>\u201cDana is an emotional guy a lot of times,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019ll just shoot you straight. In the best of times, he shoots you straight. In the worst of times, he shoots you straight.
