This petition asks the IRS to give him a reprieve until his August 26 mega fight with UFC lightweight champion <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/fighter\/conor-mcgregor\/\">Conor McGregor<\/a>, which could see both men pocket north of $100 million. The petition also asks for the IRS to reduce the penalty for Mayweather&#8217;s tardiness on paying his taxes.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cAlthough the taxpayer has substantial assets, those assets are restricted and primarily illiquid,\u201d the petition said, according to the legal website Law360. \u201cThe taxpayer has a significant liquidity event scheduled in about 60 days from which he intends to pay the balance of the 2015 tax liability due and outstanding.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In a recent interview with TMZ, McGregor addressed the rumors of Mayweather&#8217;s tax troubles.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;That&#8217;s gotta sting,&#8221; the Irishman said, before assuring he really doesn&#8217;t care about the undefeated boxers situation.\u00a0<\/em><em>&#8220;I don&#8217;t give a fuck what he did, I don&#8217;t give a fuck. I don&#8217;t care what he&#8217;s done. He should have stayed retired. He&#8217;s fucked now.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;He should have paid his taxes and stayed retired and kept my name out of his mouth. &#8220;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>McGregor, who TMZ caught mid shopping trip, was also asked if he would manage his wealth better than Mayweather.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;How does it look mate, I&#8217;m on Rodeo drive, blowing through loads of it,&#8221; he joked. &#8220;No, I don&#8217;t know.
