Ahead of the highly anticipated Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather superfight on August 26th, MMA fighters and boxers have continued to offer insight<\/a> into the bout, giving breakdowns of the scrap in interviews, and on social media.<\/p>\n

The general consensus amongst fighters is that Conor McGregor<\/a> likely needs to land a big punch early in order to either put Mayweather to sleep, or force the undefeated boxer to respect his power. With that being said of course, many are predicting that Mayweather will once again coast to a decision, using his elite defensive skills<\/a> to avoid McGregor’s power punches, while tiring the UFC champion out.<\/p>\n

UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell offered his take on the bout in an interview with TMZ<\/a>, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s gonna be that exciting of a fight. I don\u2019t think Floyd will come after him. Floyd will fight his fight the way he does and normally that makes for a boring fight. I\u2019d love to see him go after [Conor]. If he wants to make a statement, he\u2019s got to knock him out early.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Floyd comes after him, [Conor] has a shot to do it but I don\u2019t think Floyd will come after him. Floyd will be happy just making the money and running around.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"Mayweather<\/p>\n

With that being said however, Mayweather’s coach has predicted that he will actually finish McGregor<\/a> in the early rounds of the fight, stating that Mayweather will actually knock McGregor out<\/a> in the first 3 rounds of the fight, a feat that would mark Mayweather’s first finish in six years, with his most recent finish being a 4th round KO over Victor Ortiz back in 2011.<\/p>\n

For McGregor, he of course will be seeking his first professional boxing win, as he looks to shock the world and hand Mayweather his first professional loss.<\/p>\n
