UFC women’s featherweight contender Cris Cyborg is currently gearing up for her vacant women’s featherweight title fight on July 29th in Anaheim, California, where she will look to capture UFC gold.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the fight, UFC President Dana White gave a rather interesting interview in which he admitted that the UFC made some mistakes<\/a> in regards to how they handled Cris Cyborg and her situation when they signed her.<\/p>\n

\"Germaine<\/p>\n

White explained that the UFC made a commitment to Cyborg when they signed her, and that they needed to stand by that commitment and get Cyborg a title shot after so much confusion<\/a> regarding Germaine de Randamie and the status of the women’s featherweight title.<\/p>\n

In an interview on The MMA Hour<\/a> this week, Cyborg responded to White’s interview, stating:<\/p>\n

“I hope it\u2019s gonna change,\u201d Cyborg said on Monday\u2019s edition of The MMA Hour. \u201cThe last interview, Dana White said he did a lot of mistakes with Cyborg, maybe we can work together. I love my job. If my boss and my company loves working with me, we\u2019re gonna have a lot of success together.<\/p>\n

“I accepted that. Let’s see what’s gonna happen after that,\u201d she continued. “Let’s see if not going to be just words, but if the practice in business is gonna change. We just have to work together. If you want to work together, for sure we can make a lot of money together. But we need to work together. After this interview, I think he opened the door for getting better.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"Cris<\/p>\n

While Cyborg sees things moving in a good direction, she admitted that her future is still uncertain:<\/p>\n

“I’m gonna fight for the belt now, and then if I get the belt, this is gonna hold me one year, probably have a couple of fights too,\u201d she said. “I really have to think about it. If the UFC is gonna work with me, how we\u2019re gonna work together. If I\u2019m happy there, if they show respect for me\u2026 let’s wait and just wants to make everybody happy, all my fans happy. I think everybody is gonna watch my fight because they waited so long for that day, let\u2019s see after. I think after, when we work together and make money together, it changes.<\/p>\n

“I know I have a lot of doors open for me if this doesn’t happen, but all my focus is my fight in the end of the month and then we see what’s going to happen. I hope everything will be okay.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
