Robert Whittaker is set for the biggest fight of his career as he is set to take on Yoel Romero in a UFC interim middleweight title fight at UFC 213<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Coming off an impressive TKO stoppage<\/a> over Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Whittaker has worked his way up to an interim title bout by letting his performances in the Octagon do the talking and not by hyping himself up with trash talk.<\/p>\n

\"Robert<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m one of the quiet dudes, you can\u2019t tease a dude that doesn\u2019t care,\u201d Whittaker said to foxsports.com.au<\/a> of the trash talk that seems to play a big part of building a personal brand as a fighter.<\/p>\n

\u201c … The crowd now would know if I was putting it on [smack talk]. I am who I am, there\u2019s no point trying to fake it now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve already gotten here by just being me. So that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to do, I\u2019m going to be me. And people will either appreciate that or they won\u2019t.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me (this) is just another fight, just another name, just another day.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Whittaker has the same mentality for the interim title fight as the rest of his previous bouts, winning the interim belt would set him up in a title unification bout down the road. However, Whittaker isn’t looking too far ahead.<\/p>\n

\"Yoel<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cBisping isn\u2019t on my mind yet. I\u2019ve got to get through Yoel Romero who is the best fighter in the middleweight division in the rankings.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s an Olympic caliber wrestler but he\u2019s tight all around. He\u2019s got strong, powerful hands, he\u2019s got knockout power, he\u2019s a great grappler.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis fight could go anywhere and the game plan is simple, I\u2019m just going to go in there and do me. Throw my hands like I always do and see how he copes with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe definitely looks at me and knows my hands are a strong point of mine. He\u2019ll want to take me down, try to grind me out a bit, and bully me. But I think I\u2019m going to surprise him.\u201d<\/p>\n
