According to these rumors, the fight is being targeted for August 26, at Las Vegas&#8217; MGM Grand Garden Arena \u2013\u00a0<em>not\u00a0<\/em>the new T-Mobile Arena.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvsportsnetwork.com\/2017\/06\/13\/video-jeff-mayweather-and-kevin-newman-floyds-training-for-conor-august-26-at-mgm-discuss-weight-class-trainer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Speaking to Helen Yee<\/a>, Mayweather&#8217;s uncle Jeff Mayweather, and one of his proteges Kevin Newman weighed in on these rumors. While neither was willing to confirm or deny thee rumors, both seemed to think they made sense.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;If that&#8217;s the date they&#8217;re going to fight, I&#8217;m pretty sure that&#8217;s going to be a good date for the fight,&#8221; The young pugilist Newman said. &#8220;Obviously its before the &#8220;Canelo&#8221; [Alvarez] &#8211; [Gennady Golovkin] fight, so I think it&#8217;d be right on time.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I think that, to be honest, any time Floyd fights it&#8217;s going to huge,&#8221; Mayweather said, echoing Newman&#8217;s comments. &#8220;But I do think having the fight before [Canel0-GGG] \u2013 especially being that it&#8217;s a big boxing fight \u2013 having the fight before that would be ideal.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Floyd did all his business with the MGM,&#8221; Mayweather continued, discussing the MGM Grand as a possible location rather than the T-Mobile Arena. &#8220;There&#8217;s no need to change.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The MGM Grand is like Floyd&#8217;s home,&#8221; Newman added. &#8220;I think he feels comfortable there, and that&#8217;s the arena that he chose \u2013 that he&#8217;s choosing \u2013 so that&#8217;s the one for him.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"JEFF MAYWEATHER, KEVIN NEWMAN: FLOYD\u2019S TRAINING FOR CONOR AUG 26 AT MGM; WEIGHT CLASS, TRAINER\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xuFWeUT5bJ8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>McGregor was last seen in the cage in November, when he artfully clobbered Eddie Alvarez to claim the UFC lightweight title.
