Next weekend, in the first bout of the UFC Singapore undercard, undefeated South Korean bantamweight Ji Yeon Kim will make her UFC debut against a game opponent in the Czech Republic’s\u00a0Lucie Pudilov\u00e1.<\/p>\n

In advance of this fight, Kim has been sharpening her tools alongside one of the most dangerous fighters in the game<\/a>, and the most famous fighter to emerge from South Korea: “The Korean Zombie<\/a>” Chan Sung Jung.<\/p>\n

While Kim’s time on the mats with The Korean Zombie has been incredibly valuable, it has not been without its hiccups. In a recent interview with BJPenn.com’s Chris Taylor, Kim recounted a time that she accidentally fractured her training partner’s orbital bone during an intense sparring session.<\/p>\n

“We were sparring and going at it pretty hard,” Kim explained. “I caught Chan Sung with a straight right counter. He fell over and was holding his eye. At first I thought he was joking, but when he took his hand away from his face, he was already starting to get a black eye. I had no idea that it was an orbital fracture at first. When I found out, I felt terrible and kept apologizing to Chan Sung. He said that in that situation, one of us was bound to end up getting hurt, so better him than me. I still feel bad about it, though!”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Needless to say, Kim packs quite a wallop, and could very easily land a similar blow on Pudilov\u00e1 when the UFC touches down on Singapore later this month.<\/p>\n

Kim will enter her fight in Singapore with an undefeated, 6-0-2 record. Four of her six wins have come by way of knockout or submission. Originally, she was expected to make her debut against former champion Holly Holm<\/a>, but Holm reportedly turned the matchup down.<\/p>\n
