On July 29th in Anaheim, California at UFC 214<\/a>, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will step into the Octagon for a highly anticipated rematch two years in the making, as they fight for Cormier’s light heavyweight championship.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the fight, Jon Jones’ striking coach, Mike Winkeljohn, spoke to Submission Radio<\/a> to explain why Jones will be making the walk to the Octagon on July 29th:<\/p>\n

\"Jon<\/p>\n

\u201cNah, he won\u2019t exit. No, Jon\u2019s getting his title back \u2013 well, the title he never lost. Yeah, he\u2019s walking out back being the champ of the world again. Absolutely, absolutely. Jon\u2019s focus is on point. Like I said, when Jon gets on top of someone on the ground, it\u2019s always a bloody mess with elbows, etcetera. He\u2019s got great submissions from there too and Jon can take Daniel down like you saw last time, there\u2019s no doubt about it. But on the way, there\u2019s a lot of strikes that Daniel\u2019s gonna run into before he gets taken down.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Winkeljohn then followed up the explanation with a rather bold prediction for the fight:<\/p>\n

\"Jon<\/p>\n

\u201cOh yeah, I think he finishes him, there\u2019s no doubt about it. I just want it to be a big fight. I think that both guys, DC in this fight, Jon and Gustafsson in the next fight, all the guys, I just want them to\u2026 I have no problem with them doing whatever, talking the way they talk behind the scenes. Whatever can get more pay-per-view sales, whatever\u2019s gonna make these guys more money and sell the fight, at the end of the day, that\u2019s what you gotta do. But I definitely see it being a shorter fight and Jon finishing him.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
