VIDEO | Gegard Mousasi once again gets the Thug Life treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi is currently the most coveted free agent fighter in all of mixed martial arts.<\/p>\n

Mousasi is riding a very impressive five-fight win streak which includes two stoppage wins over former UFC champions.<\/p>\n

Gegard\u2019s most recent win came at last month\u2019s UFC 210 pay-per-view event where he scored a second-round TKO victory over former division title holder Chris Weidman.<\/p>\n

Prior to that, Mousasi had scored knockout victories over Thiago Santos, Vitor Belfort and Uriah Hall respectively.<\/p>\n

While fight fans are hopeful that the UFC can come to terms with Gegard on a new contract, the surging middleweight contender recently revealed that the promotions latest offer was “not good”.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not good,\u201d Mousasi said (transcription via Sherdog.com). <\/a>\u201cWe don\u2019t like it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I earned [a better contract]. If you\u2019re one of the best fighters you should get paid. Sometimes it\u2019s about nationality. Sage Northcutt I just heard is making ($75,000\/$75,000) and the guy is a beginner. Don\u2019t tell me it\u2019s a fair sport. It has to be something with rankings, if you\u2019re one of the best you should get paid as one of the best. I\u2019m up there\u2026I\u2019ve earned what I should get.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to sign with the UFC. The UFC wants to sign also, so I don\u2019t know. They should pay,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m co-main event all the time, so it\u2019s not like people don\u2019t know me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

If the UFC can come to terms with Mousasi, it is likely that Gegard will fight former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in his next octagon appearance.<\/p>\n
