Highly touted mixed martial arts coach Mark Henry is very familiar with current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.<\/p>\n

Henry, who is the coach\u00a0of former UFC lightweight champions Frankie Edgar and Eddie Alvarez, was cage side for McGregor’s historic UFC 205 victory\u00a0this past\u00a0November in New York.<\/p>\n

Although McGregor defeated one of his star fighters (Alvarez) for the lightweight championship, Henry has nothing but high praise for the Irishman and his respective striking skills.<\/p>\n

In fact, Henry believes that “Mystic Mac” should seriously pursue a career in boxing no matter what transpires in his proposed super-fight with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather (49-0).<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, if I was Conor, I would definitely pursue the boxing, because he can make more in one fight than in 10 or 11 with the UFC,\u201d Henry told MMAjunkie.<\/a> \u201cBut, while he\u2019s doing it, they should definitely make another 155-pound belt, because it would be ridiculous if they didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Henry’s high praise for McGregor should not come as that much of a shock as earlier this year he predicted that “Mystic Mac” could put Mayweather away within the first four rounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cConor is one of the best boxers I\u2019ve ever seen… Ever! From his precision to his power to his speed, and I think he has a shot in the first two rounds,\u201d Henry added. \u201cBecause Mayweather, like a lot of boxers do when they\u2019re sparring MMA guys, he may not think he\u2019s that good.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Henry Continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe might not realize how fast Conor is, and you\u2019ve got to remember that Conor is going to be taller, longer, 13 years younger, and a southpaw. Early on, I\u2019d give him a chance of doing some damage. But after that, it\u2019s not going to be too good (for McGregor).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

McGregor recently came to terms with the UFC regarding his fight purse for the Floyd Mayweather fight <\/a>which is being targeted for this fall (September or October).<\/p>\n
