While Conor McGregor<\/a> and Floyd Mayweather may not be officially set to fight one another, talks of a potential boxing match between the two have dominated combat sports headlines since McGregor’s UFC 205 win over Eddie Alvarez.<\/p>\n

In 2017, with talks of a potential McGregor-Mayweather fight heating up, Floyd Mayweather enlisted the help of UFC lightweight Kevin Lee to aid him in preparation<\/a> for the potential scrap.<\/p>\n

During an interview with Helen Yee<\/a>, Lee gave his prediction for the fight, a classic battle of speed vs. power:<\/p>\n

\"Mayweather<\/p>\n

“Floyd isn’t going to knock out Conor. Conor’s a much bigger man,\u201d Lee told Helen Yee. \u201cI expect Conor to come out and try to sling Floyd around a little bit in the clinch, try to wear him down.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Mayweather would stop him in the later rounds. He (McGregor) would be exhausted,\u201d Lee said. \u201cHe will be exhausted after a few rounds. It\u2019s just that pace. That pace is different, it\u2019s just a different sport. And people really don\u2019t understand that because we also throw punches, but it\u2019s just different. The rule set is different. Literally, everything is different. MMA would be different if you just said you can\u2019t kick anymore or you can\u2019t throw knees. MMA in itself would be totally different. So it\u2019s just a different sport, it\u2019s just a different type of body type that goes into it, it\u2019s a different type of way of preparing the body. It\u2019s just different.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I can\u2019t even really give a good prediction. I think he\u2019s gonna knock him out in the later rounds, if I had to say. And I think that will just come with pure exhaustion. You\u2019re taking a sprinter and you\u2019re putting him in there in the long-distance race. Yeah, of course he\u2019s gonna lose.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
