UFC President Dana White said it himself<\/a>, there is a ton of money to be made in the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor<\/a> boxing match.<\/p>\n

Even with the UFC lightweight champion not having a single professional boxing fight to his name going up against arguably one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport, the masses will surely tune in, if the superfight takes place.<\/p>\n

\"Floyd<\/a><\/p>\n

White spoke on The Herd<\/em> on Wednesday and revealed some very interesting information on the negotiations involving the two combat sports superstars.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we get the McGregor side in the next couple of days,\u201d White said (transcribed by Shaun Al-Shatti of MMA Fighting<\/a>). \u201cAnd then I go lock myself in a room for a couple days with Team Mayweather and see what we can come out with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Host Colin Cowherd asked White what the fight purses for Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will look like, to which the UFC President divulged his estimated numbers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt depends on how much the fight sells,\u201d White said. \u201cAnd if the fight sells as well as I think it can, Floyd makes a little north of $100 (million) and Conor makes $75 (million).”<\/p>\n

White’s estimates are a huge gap from his initial offer to Mayweather of $25 million<\/a> to fight McGregor, which was made in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe (Mayweather) feels like he\u2019s the A-side and he should get more of it. We haven\u2019t really gotten into that negotiation yet. I wanted to get McGregor locked in first, because McGregor is under contract with me. And at the end of the day, does this fight make a ton of sense for me? It really doesn\u2019t. But Conor wants this thing really bad and I\u2019ve said it many times, the kid\u2019s stepped up and saved some big fights for me, man, so I\u2019m in. I\u2019ll figure it out.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, in boxing, you start to negotiate things like the gloves and the officials and the judges,\u201d White added, \u201cand how big the ring is \u2014 a lot of different things you can negotiate as far as the fight goes. But again, I haven\u2019t gotten into a room with Team Mayweather yet, and who knows. The Conor side, we\u2019re good on the Conor side. I need to figure out the Mayweather side, and maybe it can\u2019t be (figured out). Maybe the other side can\u2019t be done, but we\u2019ll see. I promised Conor I\u2019d do everything I could to make this thing happen, so that\u2019s what I\u2019m going to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"dana<\/a><\/p>\n

White said he is expecting to do most of the negotiations with Mayweather’s partner Al Haymon, rather than with Floyd Mayweather himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is isn\u2019t going to be UFC,\u201d White added. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a boxing match. It\u2019s not going to have anything to do with the UFC. My brand, the closest thing my brand will be to this is obviously I\u2019ll be a part of the promotion for the fight, and Conor\u2019s my guy. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, one of the things that we\u2019ve done and the reason we\u2019ve built this brand the way that we have is, we always bring people the fights they want to see. There\u2019s no doubt that people want to see this fight, and it\u2019s all anybody ever asks me about, so I\u2019m going to do my best to see if I can get this thing done. I\u2019m not saying I can, but we\u2019re trying to.\u201d<\/p>\n
