However, that does not seem to be the case for Demetrious Johnson, one of the most dominant champions the UFC has ever had.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mighty Mouse&#8221; has defended his flyweight title nine consecutive times and is set to defend it once again this weekend at <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc-on-fox-24\/photo-official-poster-ufc-fox-24\/\">UFC on FOX 24<\/a> against Wilson Reis. This 10th title defense lines Johnson up to tie Anderson Silva for the <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/demetrious-johnson\/demetrious-johnson-eyeing-historic-10th-title-defense-april\/\">most consecutive title defenses in UFC history<\/a> if he gets his hand raised on Saturday night. Interestingly, Johnson told the media (transcription by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mmafighting.com\/2017\/4\/14\/15295394\/pissed-off-demetrious-johnson-wants-ufc-to-send-him-eight-more-belts?utm_campaign=dannyseguratv&#038;utm_content=chorus&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_source=twitter\" target=\"_blank\">MMA Fighting<\/a>) this week that he only has a single UFC championship belt in his possession and isn&#8217;t happy about it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Demetrious-Johnson.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"730\" height=\"380\" src=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Demetrious-Johnson.png\" alt=\"Demetrious Johnson\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-233706\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Demetrious-Johnson.png 730w, https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Demetrious-Johnson-300x156.png 300w, https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Demetrious-Johnson-585x305.png 585w, https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Demetrious-Johnson-390x203.png 390w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m getting pissed off about that,\u201d Johnson exclaimed (starting at 3:25 of the video). \u201cI saw Daniel Cormier get three damn belts, so Dana White, WME-IMG, whoever writes the checks, give me eight damn belts please, and then I [already have one, so] nine if I win this one. I\u2019ll take it home. I\u2019m going to start collecting these belts. Michael Bisping has two belts and I\u2019m just a nice guy, just a company man, I come here and fight and then they take the belt away from me and I&#8217;m like, \u2018alright, peace. Call me when you want me to come fight again.\u2019 And that&#8217;s it. But now I&#8217;m seeing these guys with three belts, and I&#8217;m like, I only got one belt and have to share it with two of my kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson has kept quiet about not being able to take a new belt home for every title defense but says that he wants to create a historic photo showing all of his championship successes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the UFC wants to give me nine belts, if I\u2019m successful on Saturday, I\u2019ll take the belt home \u2014 if they send me eight more \u2014 then I can do one of the things I&#8217;ve always wanted to do,\u201d Johnson stated. \u201cFloyd Mayweather has a picture with his all his championship belts, and I think Andre Ward just did it too. And I think it would be cool if I can re-create that same image in mixed martial arts.
