This year, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping will step into the Octagon to fight former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre<\/a> in a highly anticipated middleweight title fight. While there has been no official date set for the fight, UFC President Dana White has revealed that the two will fight sometime this year. <\/p>\n

Interestingly enough, White also stated prior to the Bisping vs. St-Pierre booking that Yoel Romero would be the next contender to the middleweight title<\/a>. Now, with Romero left waiting to potentially fight the winner of Bisping vs. St-Pierre, former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman believes that the fight is holding up the division.<\/p>\n

\"Georges<\/p>\n

He spoke to Submission Radio<\/a> to express his frustration:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely holding up the division which sucks for everybody in the middleweight division. I understand GSP, he gets the opportunity to fight for the middleweight title against a guy who\u2019s probably less dangerous for him than even at welterweight, fighting a guy like Tyron Woodley. It\u2019s a great opportunity for GSP so I understand where he\u2019s going.<\/p>\n

\u201cBisping, it\u2019s a great opportunity for him. He gets to make a lot of money fighting GSP and it\u2019s a guy who\u2019s coming up from welterweight who hasn\u2019t fought in three years and, again, he\u2019s not fighting a top contender in the middleweight division. So for those two guys it\u2019s working out great, but for the rest of the division, it kind of sucks.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In regards to Romero, who defeated Weidman to secure a middleweight title fight with Bisping, ‘The All American’ stated:<\/p>\n

\"Yoel<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I definitely feel for him. He deserves it. He beat me fair and square with a beautiful knockout. So I expected him to get it but Bisping I don\u2019t think wants that fight and then all of a sudden it\u2019s just bad timing with GSP coming back and Bisping opening his mouth trying- he wants that [St-Pierre] fight. Just bad timing for [Romero].\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
