In the main event of the evening, the organization crowned it&#8217;s first-ever women&#8217;s featherweight champion. It did so by pitting Dutch kickboxing specialist Germaine de Randamie against former women&#8217;s bantamweight queen <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc-208\/holly-holm-ufc-208-loss-think-warrants-rematch\/\">Holly Holm<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Though De Randamie landed two questionably shots after the bell, and Holm seemed to run away with the fight in the second half, she was ultimately awarded <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/germaine-de-randamie\/pros-react-germaine-de-randamie-defeat-holly-holm\/\">a contentious unanimous decision win<\/a> by the judges, and became the UFC&#8217;s first ever female featherweight champion as a result.<\/p>\n<p>With this outcome, the MMA world now waits for a massive featherweight title clash between the new champ De Randamie, and former Invicta featherweight champ Cris &#8220;Cyborg&#8221; Justino, who has long stood out as the best female featherweight on the planet.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after UFC 208 had wrapped up, these two featherweight talents gave us a teaser of their potential showdown, squaring off for a picture for the fans. See it below.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/MikeBohnMMA\/status\/830819358750416900?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw<\/p>\n<p>As massive as this fight would be, however, it&#8217;s likely to take some time to put together, as Cyborg is<a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/cris-cyborg-justino\/breaking-cris-cyborg-fails-usada-drug-test\/\"> currently dealing with the United States Anti-Doping Agency after a pair of failed tests<\/a>, and De Randamie explained post-fight that she&#8217;ll be undergoing surgery to repair an injured hand.<\/p>\n<p>With her controversial defeat of Holm, De Randamie extended her win-streak to three, having also recently defeated Larissa Pachecho and Anna Elmose. She&#8217;s now 7-3 in sum.<\/p>\n<p>Cyborg, meanwhile, has not lost since she made her pro debut almost 12 years ago. Her last two bouts have occurred inside the UFC&#8217;s Octagon, where she scored lighting quick stoppages of Leslie Smith and Lina Lansberg.
