UFC flyweight kingpin Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson has all but cleaned out the UFC’s flyweight division. With a shortage of flyweight contenders, many have been calling for Johnson to once again move up to bantamweight for a superfight<\/a>. While talks initially surrounded a potential superfight between Dominick Cruz and Johnson, which would serve as a rematch of their 2011 fight, now Johnson’s name has been mentioned in a potential Cody Garbrandt superfight.<\/p>\n

\"Cody<\/p>\n

Garbrandt, who won the belt at UFC 207 in a masterful performance against Dominick Cruz,<\/a> is currently set to coach opposite former teammate TJ Dillashaw on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter<\/a>, however in a recent interview Johnson revealed that he would be willing to move up to bantamweight for a superfight with Garbrandt if the money’s right.<\/p>\n

He spoke to NESN<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah definitely, if the money\u2019s right,\u201d Johnson told NESN when asked about a potential bout with \u2018No Love\u2019. \u201cIt\u2019s always about the money aspect of it, you know. I need to have an incentive to go up and do it, you know. When you look at the best athletes around the world \u2013 a good example is Usain Bolt \u2013 he runs the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash every single year at the Olympics, and he breaks his own record, but no one ever tells him, \u2018Why don\u2019t you run a 400? Why don\u2019t you run a mile? I mean, you\u2019re fast.\u2019 Because he\u2019s always focused on his craft, which is trying to beat his record, and that\u2019s why I\u2019m trying to do. I\u2019m trying to beat my record. I\u2019m trying to always improve myself, better myself and trying to beat Anderson Silva\u2019s record.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Johnson of course is fresh off a unanimous decision win over ‘TUF Champions’ winer Tim Elliot<\/a> in 2016, and currently does not have a fight booked.<\/p>\n
