Last Saturday, Bellator MMA returned to our screens with Bellator 170, an exciting card<\/a> in Los Angeles, California. This card’s headlining slot was filled by a light heavyweight bout between retiring MMA legend Tito Ortiz, and fan favorite Chael Sonnen<\/a>, who was returning from a hiatus of three years.<\/p>\n

Though many expect Sonnen to be too much for the aging Ortiz, Ortiz actually ended up winning this one handily, submitting Sonnen with a rear-naked choke just over two minutes into the first round<\/a>. Ortiz’s victory was so lopsided, in fact, that some fans \u2013 and even\u00a0some respected media members<\/a> \u2013 suggested the fight might have been a fix.<\/p>\n

Now that the dust has settled, the retired Ortiz has addressed these fixed fight allegations, saying anyone who suggests such a thing is merely a hater.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these people are saying it was a fixed fight, those are the ones that are just fu*king haters,\u201d Ortiz said on social media (via Bloody Elbow<\/a>). \u201cBelieve me I tried to punch him hard in the face. I tried to elbow him in the face, hard. He gave his back, and I\u2019m going to take the choke.”<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThat was \u2018fixed\u2019, so that\u2019s why I held on the choke a little longer? He even marked me. I got marks in my face from him. C\u2019mon people. C\u2019mon. I don\u2019t fu*king do fixed fights, stupid! Haters are gonna be haters.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, \u2018really fixed\u2019, man\u2019s going to need neck surgery,” he continued. “That\u2019s how fixed the fight was, you stupid asses. C\u2019mon people, don\u2019t be so ignorant. Don\u2019t be so dumb. People who do believe it, don\u2019t be so gullible. You guys see how red his face was? I almost ripped his neck off, I almost broke his head, I almost broke his jaw, to tell you the truth. I was squeezing for dear life, that\u2019s for sure.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
