Tonight, in the main event of the massively hyped UFC 207<\/a>, women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes<\/a>\u00a0will attempt to defend her title against returning former champion and MMA megastar Ronda Rousey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In advance of this fight, Nunes is perceived to be the stronger woman on the feet, while Rousey is believed to have the edge on the mat. In a recent interview with UFC on Fox<\/a>, however, Nunes assured she’s the more dangerous woman in both departments, and that she’s confident she can submit Rousey if the fight hits the ground.<\/p>\n

“I’m a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu,” the champion said. “I will submit her if she takes me to the ground.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She also assured she’s well-prepared for Rousey’s famous armbars.<\/p>\n

“I know her armbar is pretty good, and her takedowns. In jiu jitsu, everybody in jiu jitsu knows that. This is what we do every day. Defend the armbar, attack your armbar. This is what I do every day. I know she has a very good [armbar], but I’m ready for her. I don’t know if she’s going to get that, but if she gets that, I’ll be ready.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"Ronda<\/p>\n

If the fight doesn’t go to the ground, of course, Nunes believes she’ll be able to end things quickly with her striking.<\/p>\n

“I’m going to use my movement and everything,” she said. “I will try to connect with my best shot, and try to finish the fight as fast as I can.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Needless to say, she feels ready to fight Rousey in an realm of mixed martial arts.<\/p>\n

“This is the best time to fight Ronda Rousey. I’m in great shape. I’ve prepared like a lioness for this fight, and I’m ready. I’ve been ready for so long for this girl. I’ve been training. Every time I prepared for my old opponents, I’d stop a little bit at the end of the training and train for Ronda Rousey, because at the time she was the champion and everyone wanted to fight Ronda Rousey. But now everything’s changed. She’s the challenger.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
