Current UFC interim featherweight champion Jose Aldo will meet with UFC president Dana White\u00a0next week to discuss his fighting future.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian standout recently requested his release from the promotion and went as far as\u00a0to say that\u00a0he would be willing to take a dive in his next fight\u00a0if the UFC did not grant him his wish.<\/p>\n

Aldo’s unhappiness spawned after he caught wind of the recently announced lightweight title fight between Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor which will take place at UFC 205 in New York on November 12.<\/p>\n

Aldo was particularly upset with the fact that the UFC was\u00a0not making Conor relinquish his featherweight title, something the promotion had told\u00a0Jose he would have to do in order to challenge Anthony Pettis to a super-fight just a couple of years ago.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with MMAFighting, Aldo made it clear that it is time for the UFC to show him the money! His words.<\/p>\n

“If I continue in the sport, I make it clear that I want to see money,\u201d<\/em> Aldo said, per MMA Fighting\u2019s Guilherme Cruz<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s what it\u2019s about. You can\u2019t be a correct fighter. The right is wrong today. You don\u2019t have to be the good guy and do what they want, that\u2019s considered wrong today. The right is to spit at someone\u2019s face, do cocaine or smoke weed, throw water at others, call people names, don\u2019t show up at press conferences. That\u2019s the right today, and that\u2019s what Brazilian athletes have to do.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Aldo was most recently seen in action at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event where he scored a unanimous decision victory over former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, capturing the UFC’s interim featherweight title in the process.<\/p>\n

Aldo went on to explain why a fight with former lightweight title holder Anthony Pettis may be the only one to bring him back at this point.<\/p>\n

“What means is money in the pocket, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m thinking about,” <\/em>Aldo said. “That\u2019s why I said \u2018f*ck Holloway,\u2019 who won eight in a row. Some people win 10, 15, and don\u2019t fight for the belt. So, who is he to say anything? So I wanted Pettis because that would be a way bigger fight. Everybody wanted to watch this fight when we were supposed to fight in Brazil. You have to think about money first, it\u2019s business these days. First the pocket, then something else.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Pettis recently made his featherweight debut at UFC on FOX 21 in Vancouver, where he scored a submission victory over Charles Oliveira.<\/p>\n
