Conor McGregor’s UFC 196 loss to Nate Diaz<\/a> left the MMA world stunned. While some predicted that Diaz would shock the world and win the fight, McGregor, who was previously unbeaten inside the Octagon, losing was surreal to many fans.<\/p>\n

At UFC 202 on August 20th<\/a>, McGregor will get the chance to avenge his loss to Diaz when the pair square off in a rematch. Ahead of that fight, McGregor spoke to MMAJunkie<\/a> to discuss what went wrong in the first fight, and what he has done to correct it ahead of the rematch.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m working my nuts off for this rematch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know we\u2019re going to be facing a tall, lanky southpaw with a decent lead hand. Now I\u2019ve brought in tall, lanky southpaws with a solid lead hand and other guys with strong jiu-jitsu credentials, and John is overseeing the whole thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was over-trained, my diet wasn\u2019t good, and it came back and bit me in the ass. I\u2019m staying on my nutrition. I\u2019m very fight-orientated. I\u2019m not swinging out of gymnastic rings too much, and I certainly won\u2019t be doing it the week of the fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo see the way that last fight happened, I can\u2019t live with it. I need to isolate myself and come back and get my revenge.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
