It seems like the story for UFC 200 will sourrond UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor<\/a> until the event actually happens. Perhaps even then, everyone but the UFC may not be able to understand the decision to not have “The Notorious” on the card.<\/p>\n

UFC President Dana White spoke with TMZ<\/a> late Monday on his way to watch Paige VanZant’s routine on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and spoke about the latest on the situation and McGregor’s odd tweet that he was “back on” for UFC 200<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know,” White said. “I don’t know why he did (the tweet). I still haven’t talked to him but we had a whole press conference about this. I just don’t know how more clear I can make it. I laid it out exactly the way that it (is).”<\/p>\n

White admits that McGregor has saved a lot of big fights but for this one, they needed him to take part in the media appearances.<\/p>\n

“Listen, I’ve said it a million times,” White said. “Conor has stepped up, man, and saved big fights for us. I have no hard feelings with Conor. Conor is his own guy. He’s gonna do what he’s gonna do. But he’s not fighting on 200.”<\/p>\n

“He’ll fight on 201, 202, 203 — whatever,” said White. “I don’t know when. We’ll get it figured out.”<\/p>\n

McGregor once again said that UFC 200 in particular is being heavily marketed by the UFC.<\/p>\n

“Conor has his own style, has his own ways of doing things,” White said. “It is what it is. We have a difference of opinion on this thing. He thinks that he doesn’t need to do media anymore and that’s not how we do it. We do press conferences. We’re spending $10 million on this fight.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
