Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre<\/a> has not made any official announcement regarding a return to fighting<\/a> in the Octagon but has revealed that he is in negotiations with the UFC on fighting once again.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know 100 percent,” St-Pierre said to Ariel Helwani on Monday’s episode of the MMA Hour<\/a>. “We are training and doing some testing, tuning up and stuff like that. We are talking with UFC, we will see what is gonna happen.”<\/p>\n

St-Pierre revealed he has had an injury that put a bit of a stall to getting more serious about fighting again in the Octagon.<\/p>\n

“I was supposed to do a training camp to test myself to see if I feel and if I want to go get through it and see if I want to keep competing. I was not able to do it because I got a little injury that was bothering me. It took a long time because I was training on it, I didn’t rest enough and now this thing is out of the way. I am doing a training to see if I feel good and if I feel good, I’ll give the thumbs up to my manager. They been talking with UFC, but now they’re really gonna talk more, I would say more seriously to see what is gonna happen.”<\/p>\n

“Rush,” says one of the main issues with negotiations is with the Reebok sponsorship deal<\/a> with the UFC and is something entirely new for him since the deal was not in place when he last fought in 2013. GSP says that he will lose money by not being able to wear his sponsors for a fight, which is not any different from any of the other fighters that step into the Octagon but says it depends on how things play out with the negotiations.<\/p>\n

“I’m 34-years-old, I’m gonna be 35 soon,” St-Pierre said. “I’m in the best shape of my life. Now we just finished training, I’m training very hard and I feel great.”<\/p>\n
