While Firas Zahabi may have already dropped a hint<\/a> for the winner of the Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor rematch<\/a> to call out former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre at UFC 200, it really is all just a hunch for Zahabi.<\/p>\n

The longtime coach of GSP spoke on the MMA Hour (transcribed by MMA Fighting<\/a>) on Monday and opened up on what he believes will get Georges St-Pierre back in the Octagon.<\/p>\n

“Any fight [can] happen,” Zahabi said. “It\u2019s really up to what motivates Georges. That\u2019s the only thing. Georges has won many titles, he\u2019s been in many fights. There\u2019s nothing for him to gain. He\u2019s got plenty of money. There\u2019s nothing for him to gain other than to do it for fun, to do it for the sheer pleasure. So if he finds something that\u2019s fun and pleasurable, and he\u2019s excited about doing, that\u2019s what\u2019s going to pull the trigger.”<\/p>\n

Regarding a fight with welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, Zahabi says that he doesn’t think that is a matchup “Rush” is particularly excited about.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t know if that [a fight against current welterweight champion Robbie Lawler] motivates Georges,” Zahabi said. “Lawler has lost to guys that Georges has already beat. Georges, I don\u2019t know if he wants to be champion. I haven\u2019t asked him, \u2018Hey, do you want to be champion again? Do you want to have to defend your title over and over again?\u2019 I don\u2019t know if he wants to do those things. We didn\u2019t really talk about that.<\/p>\n

“It could be, I don\u2019t know. Honestly, I haven\u2019t talked to Georges about it.”<\/p>\n

Zahabi goes on to say that he thinks it will take just that one magical match to get GSP back into gear.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s all on Georges\u2019 motivation,” Zahabi said. “But Georges, to say that, he\u2019s a very spontaneous guy. I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if tomorrow he calls me up and says, \u2018I want to do this.\u2019 It wouldn\u2019t surprise me, because he\u2019s a very spontaneous guy, so I think it\u2019s just that motivation, that one fight that he\u2019s going to be motivated to train for, the one training camp that he\u2019s going to be excited to do, he\u2019ll do it.”<\/p>\n
