\u201cHa, that\u2019s a joke, man,\u201d Poirier told MMAjunkie Radio\u00a0when asked about whether he could have beaten Parke had they met. \u201cParke\u2019s an easy fight. I said that from the jump. Hey, I saved Norman Parke\u2019s career. He should be thankful this weekend I didn\u2019t fight him. He would have been 0-3 in his last three fights, and he would be getting his walking papers. He\u2019s lucky.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\nWhen asked why he opted against taking a fight he considered to be ‘easy money’, Poirier responded with the following reasoning:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s more than just, \u2018Let me get this paycheck.\u2019 Norman Parke, for sure, is an easy fight. He\u2019s going to try to\u00a0lean on you, and he\u2019s slow. I could go on and on. This is the thing. I\u2019m a prize fighter, and the prize wasn\u2019t right.
