A five year ban has been dealt to Nick Diaz by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for failing a post-fight UFC 183 drug test. Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites in one of his three tests and tried to prove his innocence, but the commission was having none of it.<\/p>\n

Diaz’s case seemed solid and even if it didn’t, many believe his crime of testing positive for marijuana didn’t warrant a five year suspension while guys like Anderson Silva were only suspended for one. Diaz spoke with the media outside of the commission offices on Monday evening and spoke his mind without holding back.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m pretty pissed off,\u201d<\/em> Diaz told the media, (as transcribed by MMA Junkie<\/a>). \u201cFirst of all, this sport, this commission and everybody, they\u2019ve done everything they can to keep me from being all the way on top where I should be. They\u2019ve been doing everything they could to keep me from proving to the world that I\u2019m the best fighter in the world, which I am.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Diaz continued to speak out against the Nevada State Athletic Commission, calling them a bunch of “crooks” and “dorks”.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose people are nothing but a bunch of crooks up there. The reason why I became a fighter, on top of a handful of reasons, was so that I don\u2019t have to break the law. People around me in my community, people I know, they don\u2019t have to break the law either. We even did a lot of good. They got me in here sweating bullets in a freaking court room with my lawyers because they all think I\u2019m going to flip out and do something really nuts like I was about this close to doing. I just think that it\u2019s bulls***. I\u2019ll fight anybody in this whole sport. I\u2019ll beat everybody that— I\u2019ve already beat guys that are on the top right now. This is the sort of reason that people don\u2019t understand that I\u2019m the best fighter in the world. They don\u2019t understand that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to tell them what I think; I wanted to tell each and every one of that they\u2019re a bunch of dorks,\u201d Diaz stated. \u201cAnybody that sees them or knows who they are should tell them that to their face, because I would. I would tell them. I would tell them that if it wasn\u2019t for my experts over here, they advised me to keep my mouth shut so I keep my mouth shut.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Diaz will be thirty-five when he is permitted to apply for another license, and he believes the lengthy suspension is unjust and the commission is acting out of line. \u201cI wanted to tell them all, \u2018Look, you guys are way the f**k out of line… I\u2019m the biggest draw; I\u2019m the best fighter. I\u2019ve been fighting for longer. I\u2019ve been throwing more punches than anyone in the sport. I\u2019m going to dodge more punches than anyone in the sport. That\u2019s the bottom line and what\u2019s really going on. We got a whole system trying to hold me down.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
