Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor are set to finally square off in the octagon at “UFC 194” in December to settle who is the true UFC Featherweight Champion. The two were originally supposed to meet at “UFC 189”, but Aldo suffered a rib injury causing him to pull out of the fight.<\/p>\n

Instead, McGregor fought Chad Mendes on short notice for the newly created UFC Interim Featherweight Championship. Mendes tested McGregor, but it was McGregor who would force “Money” succumb to strikes in the second round to become the new king of the division.<\/p>\n

Now, Aldo is back in top-form and is ready to lay controversy to rest. However, knowing fans can’t have nice things in the world of mixed martial arts, UFC President Dana White is prepared for Plan-B if either of the champions get injured.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf someone gets hurt I\u2019m the guy stepping in,\u201d Frankie Edgar said during the “Go Big” press conference. \u201cAnd that\u2019s from Dana White. You can print that in bold letters!\u201d<\/p>\n

Edgar expressed his interest in jumping into the championship fight, but admits he is not overlooking the challenger in front of him in Chad Mendes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI put all of my opponents on a pedestal,\u201d Edgar said. \u201cAnything can happen, and there are so many unknowns in this sport, so I\u2019m always thinking they\u2019re having a great camp, they\u2019re learning new things and they\u2019re going to come in in tip-top shape, and that always keeps me motivated.\u201d<\/p>\n
