Steroid use in sports has popped up throughout history.

With the UFC’s 2015 implementation of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), UFC fighters have been getting caught much more frequently with steroids and other banned substances in their system. This has resulted in many fighters being suspended from competition while others have gotten off with no sanctions due to reasons such as tainted meat that was consumed.

Here, VICE Sports brings you an inside look with a short documentary on the consequences of steroids speaking with a medical expert Dr. Caroline Messer, who is an Endocrinologist at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. In addition to speaking with Dr. Messer, VICE Sports has bodybuilder Mike Bolkovic open up about his use of testosterone for the past eight years and how it has affected his life.
