With Lyoto Machida losing his fight against Phil Davis last weekend, the UFC can now push another fighter in the former champions number one contender slot.
That man is apparently, Chuck Liddell protegé, Glover Teixeira.
According to UFC executive, Marshall Zelaznik, if Glover can beat Ryan Bader impressively in their scheduled September 4th bout he will get a chance to face the winner of Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson.
Here’s the official announcement:
Marshall Zelaznik confirms that if Glover Teixeira gets a strong win at the Sept. 4 UFC Fight Night, he'll get the next title shot at 205
