After Travis Browne’s impressive first round finish of Josh Barnett at UFC 168, it appears that his next task will be fighting fellow UFC Heavyweight Fabricio Werdum.
The fight has not been announced officially yet, but Werdum recently spoke with MMAFighting.com about his expectations:
“I had a meeting with Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta and told them I wanted to wait, but then I thought about it and saw that I would need to wait too much before my next fight”.
“We don’t have a date 100 percent confirmed yet, but I believe it’s going to be in March,” he continued. “I already know that it’s going to be a main event, so it’s a five-round fight. He doesn’t have a good cardio, so that’s good for me. He’s explosive when the fight starts, tries to finish it quickly, with jumping stuff and knockouts, so I see a lot of openings to defeat him.”
The winner of this fight will most likely be the next to fight UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez after he recovers from shoulder surgery. Will Browne pull off another first round KO or will Werdum’s ground game be too much?
