Paul Redmond and Robert Whiteford kicked things off, fighting in the first fight broadcast on FOX Sports 1.

The crowd went nuts for hometown boy Whiteford. Whiteford landed a right hand early. They exchanged and Whiteford landed another right hand. Redmond threw a kick, it was caught and he ate a big punch for it. Whiteford came in and clinched briefly, then they separated. Whiteford kept landing to the body, then the head. Redmond kept coming forward.

They start exchanging, Whiteford throws a fast combo and catches Redmond clean with a left hand that drops Redmond, who falls stiff. He jumps on him and the referee pushes him off before any more damage can be done. The crowd went nuts, Whiteford ran out of the cage and into the crowd, he was clearly overjoyed. What a way to start the prelims!

RESULT: Whiteford wins via TKO at 3:04 of round 1
