Ricardo Lamas was doing a decent job at softening up the lead leg of Chad Mendes in the opening minute of the right, but it all went downhill after that.

Lamas walked into the octagon as a severe underdog and was looking to prove the bookies wrong. He started the fight off impressively as he started to attack the lead leg of Mendes, but Mendes landed a counter shot that led to the beginning of the end.

Lamas was wobbled with a shot on the top of his head and he couldn’t regain his composure from that point on. Mendes gave him no room to breathe as he teed off with shots. Every single time Lamas looked like he was about to get back to his feet, Mendes would knock him right back down.

Eventually, the referee had seen enough and waved the fight off. After the bout, Chad Mendes called out the winner of Aldo and McGregor.
