Miesha Tate coasted her way to a unanimous decision victory against UFC newcomer Rin Nakai.
Nakai showed potential in her first octagon showing, but there are aspects of her game that need improving. Whether it was the “octagon jitters” or not, Nakai never looked comfortable in the cage and could not implement a gameplan.
Tate, on the other hand, completely outclassed Nakai. Tate showed improvement with her striking by constantly peppering Nakai with jabs and body shots. The only time she showed any weakness was when Nakai got back control, but she could never do anything with it as Tate adapted and fought her off.
Miesha Tate def. Rin Nakai by way of Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
