UFC Fight Pass Exclusive Preliminary main-event featured Manny Gamburyan and Nick Lentz in a three round bout that went the full fifteen minutes.
Manny Gamburyan struggled to get any offensive momentum going his way in the first round as Nick Lentz was looking to close the distance and grapple. The majority of the first round was spent with Gamburyan’s back pressed against the fence and Lentz looking for a takedown. Besides an accidental uppercut to the nuts of Gamburyan, there was not very much action in the first two rounds.
The pace of the fight started to pick up in the third round where Gamburyan almost locked up a kimura. Lentz escaped that attempt but Gamburyan transitioned to a basic arm lock and threatened to end the bout with it. Lentz’s submission defense was on point and he eventually made it back to his feet.
Manny Gamburyan landed more strikes toward the end of rounds two and three but Lentz had the fight in the books with his superior grappling skills.
Nick Lentz def. Manny Gamburyan by way of Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
