The hype surrounding Conor McGregor is undeniable. McGregor, who is currently on a 12-fight winning streak, is 5-0 in the UFC, and should he defeat Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night Boston in January, will likely face Jose Aldo for the featherweight championship.
McGregor has an extremely unique, and impressive style of standup, one that closely resembles that of Lyoto Machida, and even top ranked UFC welterweight Rory MacDonald wants to fight like ‘Notorious’.
MacDonald spoke to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.
“Yeah, I’m really impressed by him. He’s on the cutting [edge] on some stuff I think. His movement and striking, it’s got my attention for sure. I want to emulate some of it for sure
“He’s doing the right thing to get noticed quick, but I think he would have done it anyway with his skill set. I’m more of a fan of his skills. The way he talks is the way he talks, but I’m more of a fan of his work in the cage. His movement, his confidence, and there’s a lot of little technical things he does with his striking that I think I could use. I like it. It’s new.”
